I thought maybe I ought to post something here to let you know that I haven't died or anything. I'm still alive and kicking, just staying really busy! This past summer we were busy with our garden as much as possible, hoping to have a good veggie harvest to put away for the winter. It didn't work out quite like we had hoped, but we made considerable progress in reclaiming the garden from the quack grass.
Then in September I returned to college, to the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, where I have resumed my interrupted pursuit of a baccalaureate degree. Having become a displaced worker a year ago in Feb., joining the ranks of the unemployed in our country, it seemed that the time was right to pick up where I last left off with my college work in 1994. The LORD opened all the doors and has since confirmed to me more than once that I am on the right track. I am now officially a junior, with a GPA of 3.88, working towards a comprehensive major in elementary education & special education. I might still throw in a minor in library science, as well. Going back to school hasn't been that difficult as I've always loved school and have continued to study whether I was in school or not. What I was NOT expecting, though, was how busy I was! I had 5 classes, 17 full-time credits last semester, commuting 108 round-trip miles to college 5 days a week. It didn't leave me with much time or energy to make cards! That is something I HAVE to resolve with the spring semester that begins on Mon. Jan. 25th. I NEED the stress-relief of cardmaking (and sewing and knitting and writing letters and...).
I have managed to make cards, just not as many as I'd like, and often felt I was just throwing something together quick instead of taking my time to create what I really wanted to make. And I do plan to get pics of them uploaded here asap.
Meanwhile, I am working on 3 cards this evening that I have to have completed by tomorrow to deliver to the 3 women in our local public school elementary special education department to say Thank You for letting me hang out with them during my winterim class the past 3 weeks. I'm really going to miss being there, working with the children!
Since I need to make the most of the time that's left before bedtime, I'd better wrap this up and get moving, so til my next post--Happy Cardmaking!
